The Forest Trust
Virtual Rurality
The Forest Trust (now the Earthworm Foundation) run a scheme called Rurality, which is all about promoting sustainable oil palm farming through education. This 360º documentary-style film forms part of that education – enabling stakeholders to see life through the eyes of workers on an active plantation and to see how Rurality helps. I headed to Ghana with a DOP to interview and capture the stories of the people out there. It was a fantastic experience that turned into a five minute immersive experience narrated by the key people I met. This in turn has been shown internationally by the charity, helping bring a focus to Rurality from Malaysia to West Africa.
See for yourself
The 360º film has been shown via Samsung mobile headsets to stakeholders in the palm oil industry around the world. Recently, the Earthworm Foundation shared it online too so you can see for yourself.
