Workspace Learning interactive experience

Scriptwriting for interactive 360º video! Planning out branching narratives! Gently satirising the creative industry! What could be more fun for a writer? This project simulates work experience situations for arts students. My job was to map out the narrative structure for the two scenarios – a fashion shoot and a day in a creative studio – and write the scripts, including the interactive problem points where students had to pick from a number of possible outcomes to continue. The action altered, and the lesson learned, depended on their answer. The challenge was to make it as realistic as possible, and with plenty of experience working in the creative industry it was easy to do so. Difficult client pitches, last minute changes and a few deadline clashes all found their way into the script. It was fun – and effective. The experience was used in learning situations at NUA, helping to teach students the best ways to respond to challenges and boost their confidence.
